JULY 17: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. JULY 19: Book Carnival will host an in-person event with authors Bruce Borgos (The Bitter Past) and John Mann (Blind Fear) at 6 p.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.

JULY 20: Lake Forest Writers’ Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Barb DeLong at delongbarb15@gmail.com.

JULY 21: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with author Jeremy P. Bushnell (Relentless Melt) at 5 p.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.

JULY 22: Orange Public Library & History Center, in partnership with Book Carnival, will host Meet the Author: Dave Lopez (Ages 18+) at 2 p.m. Lopez will discuss his book, It’s a Great Life If You Don’t Weaken: Family, Faith, and 48 Years on Television. The event will take place in the Community Room. https://www.orangepubliclibrary.org/Home/Components/News/News/433/493.

JULY 22: The California Chapters of Sisters in Crime will present their Virtual Sizzling Summer Speakers Series, featuring author Matthew Quirk to discuss his novels, including “The Night Agent,” which was made into the hit Netflix show of the same name. JULY 23: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with author Kate Mosse (The Ghost Ship), in conversation with Maria Fredericks, at 2 p.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
