SEPTEMBER 26: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. SEPTEMBER 28: Join us for some friendly company and writerly conversation at the O.C. Writers’ monthly Meet & Greet Lunch, hosted by Christina Alexander of O.C. Writers. SEPTEMBER 28: Laguna Beach Books will feature Ryan Hitzel, CEO of Roark Revival, at 5:30 p.m. to discuss and sign copies of his book, Roaming: Roark’s Adventure Atlas. SEPTEMBER 29: Lake Forest Writers’ Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Zoom. OCTOBER 1: California Writers Club of Orange County will feature “Writing a Memoir,” a presentation by Wendy Lawless, at its monthly meeting, starting at 9 a.m. at the Anaheim Packing House, 440 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim. www.calwritersorangecounty.org.

OCTOBER 2: This year’s Orange County Children’s Book Festival will feature authors, illustrators, stage presentations, and more. The daylong event takes place at Orange Coast College, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa. www.kidsbookfestival.com.
