Change is hard. Bittersweet at best. But change happens, and often, in the end, it’s for the better.
After almost four years as co-Directors of OC Writers, Greta and I will be taking a step back from the community to focus on a new teaching venture, called The Author Wheel. Our plan is to offer more courses both in person and online to help writers produce, publish, and promote their work. The courses will cover topics from character development, to our popular First Page, Lasting Impression revision workshop, to choosing your path to publication, to the basics of developing an author brand.**
It’s exciting, but we also realized that in order to make these courses work, we needed to spend more of our time and energy on their development. Unfortunately, there are only 24 hours in a day.
But we have great news. After that same four year break, our founder, DeAnna Cameron has decided come back! She will be taking over as Managing Director, while Greta and I will become Education and Workshop Consultants.
DeAnna won’t be running things alone. Barb DeLong is the new Community Director and Kristy Tate is now our Social Media Director. Check out the Leadership Page for full bios on everyone.
