JULY 17: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. JULY 22: Orange Public Library & History Center, in partnership with Book Carnival, will host Meet the Author: Dave Lopez (Ages 18+) at 2 p.m. Lopez will discuss his book, It’s a Great Life If You Don’t Weaken: Family, Faith, and 48 Years on Television. JULY 22: The California Chapters of Sisters in Crime will present their Virtual Sizzling Summer Speakers Series, featuring author Matthew Quirk to discuss his novels, including “The Night Agent,” which was made into the hit Netflix show of the same name.
