JULY 28: O.C. Writers’ All-Genre Critique Group is an opportunity for writers to get and give feedback on participants’ work-in-progress. The program takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom. JULY 30: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:30 to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.

JULY 30: The Huntington Beach Friends of the Library will feature author Glen Erik Hamilton discussing his latest thriller, A Dangerous Breed (The Van Shaw novels), in a free Zoom event. Pre-registration required. https://www.sparkoc.com/event/author-event-glen-erik-hamilton.

JULY 30: The Sleepless in Laguna bookstore will feature contemporary romance author Claire Marti discussing her work at 5 p.m. for the shop’s Local Author Series in a Facebook Live interview that will stream on the shop’s Facebook page, @sleeplessinlaguna.

JULY 30: Foothill Ranch Library Writers Support & Critique Group Zoom meeting. Read your work and be prepared to provide critique to others. This free group meets weekly from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Contact stella.carruth@occr.ocgov.com for more information and for the Zoom invite.

AUGUST 1: The California Writers Club, Orange County Branch, will feature guest speaker Kim Dwinell discussing “Creating the Graphic Novel” at its monthly meeting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the community room of the Orange Public Library, 407 E. Chapman Ave., Orange. $7 non-members. calwritersorangecounty.org.
