Learning to master pitches, loglines, and queries can make all the difference to writers who are hoping to entice an agent/publisher/reader.
Come learn how it’s done at this month’s meeting of Orange County Sisters in Crime – on Sunday, September 25 – when publishing consultant and editor Jennifer Silva Redmond will be the guest speaker. Attendees are invited to bring their pitches and queries, to get Redmond’s expert advice.

Redmond spent more than a decade as editor-in-chief/acquisitions editor at Sunbelt Publications. A staffer at the Southern California Writers Conference and San Diego Writers, Ink, she has authored essays, articles and short fiction that has appeared in anthologies and magazines. Her award-winning clients include Oz Monroe (author of the dark fantasy “Soil-Man”), Leslie Johnson Nack (the YA memoir, “Fourteen: A Daughter’s Memoir of Adventure, Sailing, and Survival”) and Claudia Whitsett (the YA novel “Between the Lines”).
Redmond will begin speaking at 3 p.m. following a 2 p.m. Writer’s Forum about the publishing industry.
Location
The public is always welcome at meetings of O.C. SinC. The group, which promotes the professional development and advancement of women crime writers, is comprised of readers and writers.
Meetings are held in the Community Room of the Irvine Ranch Water District, at 15500 Sand Canyon Ave., Irvine. The meeting room is on the northeast side of the parking lot.
