MAY 15: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. MAY 20: Southern California Writers Association and Mission Viejo Library will feature Gregg Hurwitz in conversation with Philip Eisner at 10 a.m. at 10 a.m. at the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 100 Civic Center. $25 admission, which includes coffee and refreshments. MAY 21: Book Carnival will host an in-person event with author Joe Ide (Fixit) at 2 p.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
