NOVEMBER 7: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. NOVEMBER 10: Lake Forest Writers’ Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Barb DeLong at delongbarb15@gmail.com.

NOVEMBER 12: The O.C. Romance Writers (formerly the O.C. branch of the Romance Writers of America) will meet online at 10 a.m. for its monthly meeting. The meeting will feature “Finish That Book with the Chunky Method,” a presentation by Allie Pleiter. $10 for nonmembers. http://ocromancewriters.org.

NOVEMBER 12: Mystery Ink presents authors Gloria Mattioni (California Sister) and Barbara Pronin (The Miner’s Canary) to sign and discuss their books at 1 p.m. at the bookstore, 7552 Warner Ave., #101, Huntington Beach. www.mysteryink.com.

NOVEMBER 13: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with author Elly Griffiths (Bleeding Heart Yard) at 11 a.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
