OCTOBER 24: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at High Ground Coffee House (25522 Marguerite Parkway, #102, Mission Viejo). O.C. Writers member Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. High Ground offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. OCTOBER 27: Lake Forest Writers’ Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Barb DeLong at delongbarb15@gmail.com.

OCTOBER 29: Bowers Museum presents Bowers’ Book for Kids: Storytime in the Galleries at 10:30 a.m. on the last Saturday of the month for storybook reading in the galleries followed by an art project for kids. Free with general admission to the museum and free for children under 12. Bowers Museum is at 2002 N. OCTOBER 30: O.C. Sisters in Crime will feature a members-only event with author Merrie Destefano at 3 p.m. at Mimi’s restaurant (4030 Barranca Parkway, Irvine). Find more information at www.sistersincrimeoc.com. Canceled
