The Next 7 Days (June 13-19)

Check out what’s planned for the upcoming week:

JUNE 13: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at Patch Coffee (29100 Portola Pkwy, Lake Forest). O.C. Writers Community Director Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8:30 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. Patch offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. For more information, send an email to Barb at info@oc-writers.com.

JUNE 16: Lake Forest Writers’ Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:45 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at caseylostcoast@gmail.com.

JUNE 18: The Southern California Writers Association will feature thriller author Matthew Quirk discussing his novel The Next Agent, which will soon become a Netflix series, at its monthly meeting at 10 a.m. at Regency Theatre, 26762 Verdugo St., San Juan Capistrano. $35 for nonmembers to attend. $15 for the Zoom option. Learn more at www.southerncalwriters.org.

JUNE 18: Book Carnival will host an in-person event with authors Ellen Byron (Bayou Book Thief) and Nancy Cole Silverman (The Navigator’s Daughter) at 12 p.m. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
