SEPTEMBER 6: ***CANCELED THIS WEEK FOR THE HOLIDAY*** Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at Patch Coffee (29100 Portola Pkwy, Lake Forest). O.C. Writers Community Director Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8:30 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. Patch offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. SEPTEMBER 8: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with authors Gabby Allan (Much Ado About Nauticaling) and Carol Perry (Be My Ghost) at 7 p.m. https://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
SEPTEMBER 9: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 11 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.
SEPTEMBER 9: The Foothill Ranch branch of the Orange County Public Library will present a discussion with guest author Nancy Brashear at 10:30 a.m. Free and open to the public. The library is at 27002 Cabriole Way. www.ocpl.org/libraries/foothill-ranch.
SEPTEMBER 11: The monthly meeting of the Orange County chapter of Romance Writers of America will feature a presentation on “Interactive Wordsmithing,” by Celeste Barclay, starting at 10 a.m. $5 for OCCRWA members and others. http://occrwa.org/chapter-meetings.
