JUNE 14: Bring your WIP to work alongside other (socially distant) writers at the O.C. Writers’ Monday Morning write-in at Patch Coffee (29100 Portola Pkwy, Lake Forest). O.C. Writers Community Director Barb DeLong generally arrives around 8:30 a.m. and leads a breakout discussion at 11 a.m. for those who want to take a break. Patch offers indoor and outdoor work tables, but all are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The shop follows current Covid rules. JUNE 15: Arvida Book Co. will participate in a special one-night virtual launch event for In the Heights: Finding Home, featuring authors Lin-Manuel Miranda, Quiara Alegria Hudes, and Jeremy McCarter. Tickets for the 5 p.m. (PT) event are $40 and include a hardcover copy of the book. http://arvidabookco.com.

JUNE 17: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 11 a.m. to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.

JUNE 17: Foothill Ranch Library Writers Support & Critique Group Zoom meeting. Read your work and be prepared to provide critique to others. This free group meets weekly from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Contact stella.carruth@occr.ocgov.com for more information and for the Zoom invite.

JUNE 18: Summer Storytime in Old Towne Orange, a free children’s program, will feature special guest Marc Mendoza of Smoqued BBQ at 9 a.m. in front of Tiddlywinks OC, 129 N. Glassell St., Orange. http://tiddlywinksoc.com.

JUNE 19: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with author John McMahon to discuss his novel A Good Kill at noon. Check the website for more information. http://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.
