MAY 18: O.C. Writers’ All-Genre Critique Group is an opportunity for writers to get and give feedback on participants’ work-in-progress. The program takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. The group is currently full. To be added to the waitlist, send an email to group leader Cee Cee Wakefield at info@oc-writers.com.

MAY 18: The monthly Lit Up! OC reading salon will feature authors Caitlin Rother and Alex Finlay at 6:30 p.m. The live-streaming event is free. https://www.facebook.com/litupoc.

MAY 19: Mission Viejo Library and Warwick’s will host best-selling author of The Devil Wears Prada, Lauren Weisenberger, discussing her latest novel, Where the Grass Is Green and the Girls Are Pretty,” at 4 p.m. The $28 to $31.50 (plus tax and fee) cost for the online event includes a signed copy of the new book, which will be mailed after the event date. https://www.warwicks.com/event/Weisberger-2021.

MAY 20: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:30 to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.

MAY 20: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with author Peter James to discuss Left You Dead at 11 a.m. https://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events.

MAY 20: Foothill Ranch Library Writers Support & Critique Group Zoom meeting. Read your work and be prepared to provide critique to others. This free group meets weekly from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Contact stella.carruth@occr.ocgov.com for more information and for the Zoom invite.

MAY 22: Naranja Dulcea will present a write-in from 10:30 a.m. till noon. ($15). The event will take place at Arvida Book Co, 115 W. Main St., Tustin. www.naranjadulceca.com.
