JULY 6: In lieu of the usual Monday morning write-in, look for two one-hour writing sprints in the O.C. Writers Facebook Group. The first will start at 10:30 a.m.; the second at 12:30 p.m. https://www.facebook.com/events/958229947954613.
JULY 7: O.C. Writers’ All-Genre Critique Group is an opportunity for writers to get and give feedback on participants’ work-in-progress. The program takes place at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom. JULY 9: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:30 to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.
JULY 9: Foothill Ranch Library Writers Support & Critique Group Zoom meeting. Read your work and be prepared to provide critique to others. This free group meets weekly from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Contact stella.carruth@occr.ocgov.com for more information and for the Zoom invite.
JULY 10: Book Carnival will host a virtual event with mystery novelist Spencer Quinn speaking about his book Mutts and Men at 6 p.m. on Zoom. Check the website for details. https://www.annesbookcarnival.com/events/
JULY 11: The O.C. chapter of Romance Writers of America’s monthly meeting will feature “Sell More Books on Instagram,” an online presentation by best-selling romance and mystery author Alana Albertson, from 10 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. $5 and advance reservation required. occrwa.org.
JULY 11: The California Writers Club, Orange County Branch, will feature a book marketing panel at its monthly meeting from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the community room of the Orange Public Library, 407 E. Chapman Ave., Orange. $7 non-members. calwritersorangecounty.org.
