MAY 1-31: O.C. Writers’ May The Muse Be With You, a monthlong productivity event, offers daily check-ins to record your writing progress, cheer your colleagues, and focus on your goals. Check out the free online program at https://www.facebook.com/events/551268742204009.

MAY 4: O.C. Writers’ weekly Home But Not Alone Virtual Write-in offers structured writing sprints from 9 to 11 a.m. on a Facebook Event page, and ends with a discussion about writing and publishing topics from 11 a.m. to noon. This week, the group plans to hold the discussion on Zoom. MAY 4: O.C. Writers’ All-Genre Critique Group is an opportunity for writers to get and give feedback on participants’ work-in-progress. The program will be testing a new format that includes a Zoom discussion from noon to 2 p.m. For instructions, please check the “About” section of the Facebook Event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/592226584833901.

MAY 7: O.C. Writers’ weekly Roundtable discussion group, featuring writing and publishing business topics, takes place from 10:30 to noon on Zoom. Meetings are free and open to the public. To receive Zoom access information, email Roundtable Leader Casey Dorman at info@oc-writers.com.

MAY 7: Foothill Ranch Library Writers Support & Critique Group Zoom meeting. Read your work and be prepared to provide critique to others. This free group meets Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Contact stella.carruth@occr.ocgov.com for more info and for the Zoom invite.

MAY 9: The OCC chapter of Romance Writers of America will feature “Crafting Believable Characters and Balancing Emotion and Pacing for Unforgettable Fiction” by Priscilla Oliveras. Check the website for more information. occrwa.org.
