A couple weeks ago, we announced a few new features we’re rolling out at OC-Writers.com, and today we’re adding another one to the mix.
Starting May 15, FRIDAY READS will be a weekly showcase of the work of an O.C. Writer that will include the following:
- a 1,250-word max. passage from a fiction or non-fiction work
- a 100-word max author bio, which must include the O.C. city where you live and/or work (because this is intended to showcase O.C. writers)
- an author headshot
- a book cover image, if the passage is part of a published book
- one buy link, if the passage is part of a published book
If you’re interested in participating, watch for a post on Tuesday morning (May 5) in the O.C. Writers’ Facebook Group, where the first 20 or so slots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. To be eligible, a writer must live or work in Orange County and be a subscriber to the O.C. Writers’ mailing list for weekly recaps at the time of sign up and at the time of the feature. The writer also must agree to submit the above elements of the feature at least a week in advance.
Additionally, each member of the O.C. Writers leadership team will be offered a slot as a thank-you for their volunteer efforts.
If you have questions, please email me at deanna@oc-writers.com.
Thank you and happy writing!
